Wow, that's a odd one. I better watch this thread.
So can you boot at all? I'd say you should boot in live mode and reinstall Grub in your partition. Wait for more opinions, tho.

What does your menu.lst say (cat /boot/grub/menu.lst)?

Comment out gfxmenu in /boot/grub/menu.lst, gfxboot seems to have issues (overflow) in combination with your BIOS.

Try finding a BIOS update for your system and see if that helps. Is your memory also working properly?
