While I have a few idle moments. LOL!
If you use a Debian unstable distro like Kanotix and du every day
it pays to learn how to use Lynx the text only browser.
When the whole thing falls back to the terminal after a du and you
haven't a clue what's gone wrong at least you can use Lynx get to
Kanotix.com and get some help. "I know I have".
I open a console and have a tinker with it every day just to keep my
hand in.

Install and try w3m. You'll like it more.
Do apt-cache search w3m and you'll see a package that makes w3m to display some pictures. (if apt-get install w3m doesn't install it already for you)

when Xorg gets screwed. When I'm up against it and
looking for help I don't need pictures nor a mouse.
Anyway having pictures and the use of a mouse is just
more software that may let you down. 9 times out of 10
you will always have a text terminal.
All a matter of choice I suppose and that's why we're
here and using Kanotix.

Or boot up with the Kanotix LiveCD and you'll be able to use the graphical stuff. I use Lynx in a pinch, but do prefer the regular graphical browser to get to IRC or the forum if Xorg gets b0rked on a d-u

clubex, you dont' need a picture or mouse with w3m, not sure where you got that idea, it just displays webpages better than lynx. Most of the console browsers do, links2, elinks, lynx is better for non web browsing activities to me, it's what I'll use for example to trigger a remote script on a website, things like that, but for real browsing, w3m in console, no images, no mouse, is pretty pleasant.
But of course it doesn't matter at all what console browser you use, but my suspicion is that for most users, they'll like one of the more advanced ones better.
