Titel: Initscripts in Dist-Upgrade: Hit "Y" for rc-local
Tonights dist-upgrade has new initscripts .. for question [if asked]
Code:

Configuration file `/etc/init.d/rc.local'
==> Modified (by you or by a script) since installation.
==> Package distributor has shipped an updated version.
What would you like to do about it ?  Your options are:
    Y or I  : install the package maintainer's version
    N or O  : keep your currently-installed version
D     : show the differences between the versions
Z     : background this process to examine the situation
The default action is to keep your current version.
*** rc.local (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ?

HIT "Y" [if asked, you may not be]
to install the new version

if you missed it, you could run this:
Code:

apt-get install --yes --reinstall -o DPkg::Options::=--force-confmiss -o DPkg::Options::=--force-confnew initscripts

[which wont ask]

hmm .. all /etc/init.d/rc-local seems to do is look for scripts in /etc/rc-local , to be run at boot
which looks handy
but is not currently used on Kanotix
so this aint a showstopper
