I'm trying to install kwin-baghira

i keep getting this:
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages

after i do an 'apt-get -f install'
i get this:
Unpacking xserver-xorg-core (from .../xserver-xorg-core_2%3a1.1.1-9_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/xserver-xorg-core_2%3a1.1.1-9_i386.deb (--unpack):

i tried deleteing the archive, doing a apt-get update
and i still can't get it to work

baghira usually has serious problems, better don't install it in the first place.

As a matter of fact I cannot follow you. I made an apt-get update and then installed kwin-baghira without any problems!

Which XServer version do you have?

I can't ger the Xorg to install properly

i have the 2005-04 version of kanotix

i get errors and such, i just showed you them (see the post)

Ah that is the problem! Kanotix 2005-04 is too old. Please download the lastest version of 2006-01, currently RC4 and you will be able to instal baghira without any problems. Then you can configure it in the KControl.

what problems do you mean? I thought it was just another window-deco for kde.
Got it here on two boxes and don't see any issues. I'm pretty sure you are right, just
want to know what exactly is wrong with baghira Winken

I don;t know what is wrong. I Can't get KDE base to install, that screwed up my apt-get, im going to TRy to upgrade, but i have 56k(Don;t laugh) we can't get DSL here, and cable is like 80 Bucks a Month.

You would be better off to just download Kanotix 2006-01-RC4 and not worry about upgrading.

zulu9, it is just another window deco for KDE, yes - but compared to other themes it changes quite a lot within KDE which imposes a much greater regression potential during KDE upgrades and we already got quite a few of those bugreports for baghira breaking newer KDE versions in the past.
