General Support - Missing cursor in terminal mode

Titel: Missing cursor in terminal mode
Kanotix 2006-01-RC4:

When I drop into terminal mode (CTRL-ALT-F1), login as
root and do init 3 I'm requested to login again and the
cursor is missing. No real problem for me except when I
make a typing error.

I suspect some error in my /etc/rc3.d directory.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I didn't know you could have a cursor in that mode... Maybe I'm wrong!

Happens to me, too. Only on sometimes, though. Also using 2006-01-rc4.

I just got this error on a test install after du as well, then it went away.

Same here. k-2006-01-rc4, up-to-date.
The cursor no longer blinks in Yakuake nor Konsole either.

Richard: turn on cursor in Konsole via it's Settings Menu.
Can't speak for Yakuake as I don't use it.

My cursor completely disappears when I enter init 3.

Perhaps this thread should be part of 2006-041-RC4 bugs.

Right you are! Forgot about those.
Still don't know why tty1, etc., sometimes have a cursor and sometimes don't.
Must be some conflict somewhere. Doesn't seem to bother anything, just
sometimes hard to tell, until you start typing.
