Part of the Kanotix d-u process is to run install-nvidia-debian.sh when Xorg is upgraded. When I do that, I get a warning message to the effect that something in the "nvidia configuration must have been changed, but the upgrade will be attempted as best as possible. Please check the log to find out more." This isn't very encouraging, but Nvidia seems to get re-installed successfully every time. Does anyone know what's going on there and whether it's important or not? I did read the log, but couldn't get a clue from that.
Regards,
Ron |

It just means you had a previous nvidia install, it's just some words, don't worry about it. It's literal, it means exactly what it says, and the attempt is basically almost always successful. Kano is just being accurate, there is no 100% guarantee of anything working, thus the word 'attempt'. |
