Hi,
I was just wondering - if I screw something up really bad on my Kanotix machine (full hard disk install) and I want to re-install the entire OS - do I simply make a complete Kanotix install on the / partition, or do I choose the 'upgrade' option, or is there another better way to fix the OS without affecting the rest of my computer (/home for example)?
What is the best way to use the Kanotix live-CD as a rescue disk for a hard disk Kanotix install?
Thanks,

well, you could have an image of your install (maybe with partimage), or you can use the installer of the cd with the update-install option, which will preserve yer /home.

Well update install is best in cases you want to keep your settings. You may NOT interrupt the process however. |
