Hello All,
Could some one tell me what RC stands for in RC4 or RC2?
What is dist-upgrade? I seem to be encountering that phrase in many places.
As concerning the kernel upgrade, can I take the standard kernel directly and upgrade my kernel on kanotix or is the standard kernel modified and then it is made availble on the kanotix site- I should take this one to upgrade my kernel?
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,

RC stands for Release Candidate. if you want to install to hd at the moment, easter RC4 would be the one to get. the kernels for kanotix are always very current and you should use those, unless you want to roll yer own. dist-upgrade is the preferrred way to update asystem based on unstable.any other questions should be answered in the manual: http://linux.kopporama.de/en/kanotix_manual.html
