Well, I installed to a spare partition using debian net-install, and it took ages to install, but I must say I'm impressed at how much debian has caught up to live cd installs ... the debian net-install was even more user friendly and powerful than anything I've seen so far.
Yep, it's come a long way, it detected all my devices etc.
So it put X windows on for me nicely, and I changed the repos to sid, and installed my nvidia drivers (fairly easy with modual assistant, but not as easy as kano's script), and I installed mplayer, set up my nfs shares, and my web server and Citrix client, and finished off with a dist-upgrade. My install is quite lean and snappy.
No nice forum though. No easy scripts. |
