| I'm using 2006-Easter-RC4 without DU's. Yesterday upon booting, the system locked up with no keyboard response so I had to reset. This repeated several times. I booted the 2005-04 CD to mount partitions & restore with rdiff-backup. During the process, the message lines "Unknown field in line 'SHAIDigest occurred. Upon rebooting again, the same lockup occurred. My first thought was a hardware problem, but I'm not sure because the live-cd's work. Things froze at "KDE is up and running" before all the panel icons were in place. I'm using KDE 3.5.4. with 2.6.17 kernel on main install. I don't understand why things started locking up on me. I really would like to have my system back. Suggestions? Thanx. |
