So I couldn't wait for stable 2006-1 and installed rc4, did an distupgrade with h2:s script and installed Openoffice and removed Koffice, Koffice is still in the K-menu but will of course not start because it's not there any more. Openoffice is not in the K-menu.
Is there a way to update the k-menu according to what is actually installed? |

I just did a test install of 2006-1, ran the du-fixes-h2 script, did the du, then did the ooo install, and the ooo menu items appear as expected under kmenu -> office.
I didn't test removing koffice, but ooo worked fine, so I assume koffice removal would have also worked fine.
As to what went wrong I can't say, but I assume you can update your kmenu using menu editor or menu updating tools.
I've also used the remove koffice item many times, and the koffice items in kmenu -- office have vanished as expected. |
