I have messed with "locale", so now when I hit an accented character, let' say <e'>, in a konqueror filename, I get two squares. In other progs I get just one square.
The same filename, as root, appears as regularly accented e', but if I open konqueror as user, the same filename appears as the two squares.
What am I supposed to to to get back the same characters both as root and user?
And the same accented e' in filenames written in Mepis or PCLOS, in konqueror as root appear like two other international characters (eg. a tilded A and a umlauted o)
Again, what can I do - check - modify, to get in Kanotix the same international characters I have in the other two distros?

Frapelli,
you may give dpkg-reconfigure locales and/or set-language-environment a try (doing as root does, of course) ...
