After upgrading to kernel v2.6.24-3-kanotix, I tried to install NVIDIA drivers (both v1.0-9639 and v100.14.11 - the latter being preferred) manually, with no success. The installation failed both times.

I then ran "update-scripts-kanotix.sh" and then "install-nvidia-debian.sh" (which, for those who didn't know, both live in /usr/local/bin), which downloaded and installed the just released v169.12 driver. That installation did throw up the error messages

You should always use my script and you should forget the warnings. Also I added a new option to my script:

-v latest

That way you would get the lastest preferred by nvidia driver release even if I had no time to update my script yet.
