i think you misunderstood me
i use the computer as is
i boot kanotix from the CD (KANOTIX 2007 Thorhammer RC6) and use the computer
using the unionFS and the permanent home i installed some extra programs & drivers (including nvidia and a new Wlan driver)
and im using it as is
noting to rescue
but i cant upgrade to Excalibur as its bigger then a CD and i dont have a DVD drive |

thank you for taking the time to read and answer me
i suspect we are have 2 unconnected conversations
if you are willing to spend the time to help me we need to synchronize them
i have been using kanotix for ~6y (cebit, 2005,Thorhammer )
i like it and see no reason to replays it
at the moment i use Thorhammer RC6 + persistent home on the HD
RC7 fails to boot
will excalibur boot on a computer that Thorhammer RC7 fails to boot on ?
if yes is ther a method to boot from a CD and redirect the sequence to an ISO on the HD?
edit
i think i read the wrong part of the first link you gave me (PLoP) i think it will alow to boot an ISO from the HD/usb. ill do some more reading
edit 2
the bios cant find the HD
grub cant find the HD |
