Hi!
I just got this D-Link DWL-G650 PCMIA WIFI card, which is supposed to be fully compatible with Linux through Madwifi, but I have two issues that makes me unable to connect to a network with it.
First off, I can't enable the wifi card in the Network Interface settings (in the Control Center), even when I activated the interface into netcardconfig. Perhaps the settings I have used were wrong, but here's how they appear in etc/network/interfaces:
Zitat:
auto lo ath0
iface lo inet loopback
iface ath0 inet dhcp
wireless-mode auto
wireless-freq 2.412G
wireless-essid any
iwconfig 108M
Also, Kwifimanager seems to only detect 1 network at a time (that seems to be the one with the strongest signal), and I could'nt figure how to connect to a network with it. I don't know if it's me, but Kwifimanager does'nt seem to be very user friendly (even tho I know it has nothing to do with the great developpers working on Kanotix...
But the thing is that the system truly seems to recognize the card, and I'm sure that this card is compatible with the Madwifi driver. What would you suggest to arrange that? Like is there any specific setting I should enter in iwconfig so it could work? Or perhaps I misinstalled or misconfigured madwifi, is there a way somebody would suggest to make the right settings?
Thanks a lot! |
