Hallo Kanotix Gemeinde
Ich schraube jetzt schon seit drei Stunden an der x.org Konfiguration herum. Ziel ist es mittels aticonfig --desktop-setup=horizontal einen großen Desktop zu erstellen - das geht auch ohne weiteres.
ABER:
Die Auflösung steht auf 3200x1200 - bei fv60Hz, damit ist kein Arbeiten auf länger sicht möglich - meine Versuche die Auflösung auf 2560x1024 bei höher Hz zu drosseln sind alle fehlgeschlagen.
Habe ich eine config Datei übersehen, in der ich das einstellen muß oder gibt es eine womöglich ganz einfache Lösung.
x.org7 & die neusten ATI Treiber.

es gibt keine Grafikarten die diese Aüflösung mit mehr als 60Hz beherschen. selbst 1920x1440 geht mit max. 75Hz.
Oder hast du eine SpezialKarte die mehr als 400MHz Videobandbreite besitzt? Selbst eine Monitorelektronik schaft das nicht! |

Ok, hier liegt ein Mißverständniss vor.
Die Auflösung errechnet sich aus 2x 1280x1024, der X-Server erweitert/dehnt die Darstellung quasi aus auf 2560px in der gesamten Breite über beide Monitore aus. Das ganze ist eine Eigenheit des Ati Treibers.
Bei dieser "Ausdehnung" bekomme ich aber immer 1600x1200 pro Monitor (3200x1200 über beide Monitore).
Ich hätte, und hatte vor dem Update auf xorg7 eine Auflösung von 1280x1024 bei 75Hz, pro Monitor mit einem laufenden X-Server der sich auf die ganze Breite bieder Monitore ausgedehnt hat - 2560 x 1024 - das ganze hat wunderbar funktioniert. Leider bekomme die Einstellung nur für 1600x1200 bei 60Hz hin, kann aber die Auflösung nicht nach untern bzw. die Wiederholfrequenz nicht nach oben drehen.
