Titel: X startet mit falscher Bildwiederholfrequenz

Hi
ich hab mir vor ein paar Tagen Kanotix-2005-04 heruntergeladen. Eigentlich lief alles gut, bis ich die radeon Treiber mit install-radeon-debian.sh installiert habe. Denn jetzt startet X nur noch mit 100Hz vfreq, obwohl mein Monitor nur 85Hz unterstützt und ich als ziemlicher noob hab keine Ahnung was ich noch versuchen soll.
Das hab ich schon versucht:
- den Fernsehr angeschlossen und dann die Bildwiederholfrequenz im kontrollzentrum
geändert. Allerdings hatte dies nur Auswirkungen auf meinen Benutzer und nicht auf den
Start von X.
- dann hab ich die vfreq in Xorg.conf geändert, was aber auch überhaupt keinen Effekt
gezeigt hat.
- dann hab ich weiter in den Foren gesucht und es schließlich mit
Option "UseEdidFreqs" "off"
Option "IgnoreEDID" "on"
versucht. Aber auch das brachte Nichts....

Dein VertRefresh 50.0 - 85.0 ist in Ordnung aber die Horizontalfrequenz stimmt nicht, ändere das mal
HorizSync 30.0 - 40.0 in --> HorizSync 30.0 - 70.0
--> dann löscht du ALLE ModeLines
--> und auch alle Optionen die du da eingefügt hast (die sind zwar im Prinzip sehr nützlich, aber bei dir kontraproduktiv
da dein edid ja O.K. ist wie die Xorg.conf zeigt)

nur hast du da keine einzige brauchbare Modeline deswegen weg damit (Modelines sind eh schon lange obsolet)

Genau das scheinen auch die Hersteller von proprietären Grafiktreibern (hallo ATi und nVidia) zu denken, wenn ihre schlampig geschriebenen Treiber modlines ignorieren oder bei deren purer Existenz gar ganz die Kooperation einstellen...
Fakt ist, für reine VESA Auflösungen sind explizit angegebene Modlines nicht mehr erforderlich, aber gerade heutzutage gibt es durchaus immer mehr "exotische" Auflösungsformate die modlines voraussetzen (Breitbildformate bei Notebook TFTs etc.) und die ohne modline Support arg merkwürdig aussehen.

Post scriptum: Ich möchte mal sehen wie die neumodischen lock-in Treiber mit meinem Mehrfrequenz CRT zurecht kommen, 1152*900 @77Hz, synch on green (ja, 1152*900, nicht 1152*864), DDC gibt es über 13W3 auch nicht. |

mööönsch slh, was hast du denn da für ein schätzchen von monitor? 13W3-Anschluß mit SyncOnGreen, habe ich ja schon seit Ewigkeiten nicht mehr gesehen! hat deiner zufällig auch noch ein frequenzloch? dann ist es der berühmte 21'-monitor von mitsubishi, oder?
habe von '97-'99 technischen support bei miroDisplays gemacht und schon damals war das sehr exotisch! war immer ein spaß, wenn leute anriefen die oberglücklich waren ein schnäppchen geschossen zu haben, sich gewundert haben das es nicht läuft und ich ihnen dann erklärt habe das in der allgemein üblichen pc-welt diese sync-methode und der anschluss quasi nicht existieren. ich kann mich erinnern, das es einen sündhaft teuren adapter für den 13W3-anschluss gab und das man damals(s.o.) nur matrox-grakas mit viel gefummel zur zusammenarbeit mit dem monitor überreden konnte(bezieht sich natürlich ausschließlich auf windows, nicht wahr!) ........ |

20" SUN (Sony OEM) GDM-20D10 Mehrfrequenz CRT, 4 Festfrequenzen:
1280*1024, 81.1 kHz horiz., 76 Hz vert.
1152*900, 71.8 kHz horiz., 77 Hz vert.
1280*1024, 71.7 kHz horiz., 67 Hz vert.
1152*900, 61.8 kHz horiz., 66 Hz vert.
Normalerweise angeschlossen an einer SUN SparcStation 20 (Baujahr 1994, 50 MHz Texas Instruments SuperSPARC CPU, 160 MB RAM) mit SUN (SMC OEM) CGsix Framebuffer (sagenhafte 8 bit), aber mit simplem Adapter auch problemlos an aktuellen Grafikkarten verwendbar - wenn sie denn die o.g. Frequenzen exakt darstellen können, wo wir wieder bei dem modlines sind... |
