Titel: ATI Drivers for my laptop

Hi guys
I need some advice if it will be safe to install the ATI Drivers in my Toshiba M70. This is what I have:
Host/Kernel/OS "KanotixBox" running Linux 2.6.17-kanotix-1 i686 [ KANOTIX 2006 Easter ]
CPU Info Intel Pentium M 2048 KB cache flags( - ) clocked at [ 1600.000 MHz ]
Videocard ATI Radeon Mobility X700 (PCIE) X.Org 7.0.0 [ 1024x768 @76hz ]
Network cards Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection
Realtek RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+, at port: 6000
Processes 103 | Uptime 4:15 | Memory 455.473/1009.32MB | HDD ATA TOSHIBA MK1032GS Size 100GB (38%used) | Client Shell wrapper | Infobash v2.50rc12
I've been reading here in the forum that ATI Drivers have a lot of problems with X.Org 6.9.0 . So I have X.Org 7.0.0 is it safe to download and install them??
And if it is, can somebody tell me how to do it. I tryed doing what the manual says:
su
init 3
update-scripts-kanotix.sh
install-radeon-debian.sh
but at the last command it tells me... no souch command or something like that.
Control Center/Kanotix/Display under Drivers says I'm using Vesa driver. Probably the look of some fonts and images will improve if I install ATI Drivers.
Can someone help me with some advice?

The script is changed to install-fglrx-debian.sh
Try it
I did have difficulty until I used the Kanotix Update GUI to upgrade my kernel -- but you've already upgraded your kernel
If you are missing the script look here http://kanotix.com/files/
I have laptop with X200M -- Xorg 7.0

So to be clear, what I should do is open the Konsole, type su, init 3 and
update-scripts-kanotix.sh
install-fgrlx-debian.sh
Correct?
If something goes wrong will I be able to return to the previus configuration, I mean with de vesa driver and how?
