          | I have kanotix and windows xp on dual boot and most of the time they work great together . At the moment I am trying to work out why when I start on kanotix my webcam that is situated above the monitor comes on , well I presume it comes on or is activated , because it has the little green light activated . I dont get this when I am in windows , unless I start skype or msn messenger . My question , Is there a service that is activated in kanotix that activates this when I boot into kanotix , this is really a fresh install , I havnt really altered much from standard
I am sure there is something in your forum when I do a search but I cant understand it if it is not in english
 Thanks

 Peter

          | Most importantly , is your webcam working in kanotix?
My webcam in MSXP shows a green LED

          | Zitat:
I havnt even tried to use it in kanotix
Open Konsole and enter Code:
caminfo
to obtain information about the webcam's status. Then launch Camstream from the Debian menu. Go to "File --> Open viewer..." and select your webcam from the list of available devices. |

          | I have logged out of skype and see the webcam light it off , it wasnt doing that before , it was staying on all the time , and as far as I know I never had anything working in kanotix on it and yes bluewater when I go into kmenu-camorama it works too . The light comes on when I activate it , and when I go out , the light goes off .

All my questions answered , so thank you for your time
