Titel: 2006-01-RC1 Live-CD has bugs

Hi,
tried to run 2006-01-RC1 Live-CD on my AMD Turion64 X2 notebook (Packard Bell)
- KDE desktop showed up nicely (standard preset boot option ACPI and DMA, first entry on grub menu entries list).
- BUG: When Konqueror is run automatically right after KDE was launched to display latest info (like it did on all Kanotix CDs before) the "egg clock" appears and rotates, but nothing else happens.
- BUG: Tried to run Kanotix installer script from KDE menu, but again - rotating mouse icon but nothing happens.
- BUG: Tried to shut down Live CD, but when it says "killed all..." at the end, it just hangs up and nothing else happens. Cannot switch off.

Come on, do you really think this is a bug? To me it looks like a bad burn. Better check the cd with cheat code "testcd". |

bad burn, for sure.
use dao option and speed not faster than 8.
but you are right, of course RC1 has bugs, otherwise it would be final.
but what you experienced are no bugs.

This has happened to me a few times and seems to be HW specific .... |

gowator,
what does apt-cache policy eject say for installed version? if it is 2.1.4-2.1, thats the prob there.
that version allows for secure removal of usb-devices in RC1/2, but wont eject the live-cd.
dont knowe, if this is your prob, just a shot in the dark.
