After todays dist-upgrade you have to reinstall ati-drivers:
$su
$init 3
$install-fglrx-debian.sh |

After dist-upgrade today (x-org 7.1.0-1) all of the menus (starting already from the login screen) are empty- nothing to see. There seems to be a general problem with the fonts. install-nvidia-debian.sh does not help at all. I can't work with X now!

| Meanwhile I switched the "driver" in /etc/X11/xorg.conf into "nv" and can work again with X. But this is only a temporary fix. |

According to http://www.pro-linux.de/news/2006/10253.html (German) are Radeon 8500/9000/9100/9200/9250, Mobility Radeon 9000/9100/9200 and Radeon IGP 9000/9100/9200 are no longer supported by ATI. Users of these cards should keep using the driver 8.28.8 instead.

Is there anything else to be taken care of for those who have these cards? |

| Of course that script detects (!) the card and loads 8.28.8 in case of a legacy one. Similar to the nvidia legacy detection. |
