Since I've started using Linux (Kanotix) for the first time, I find myself using the keyboard more often and frequently, for any type of functions, particularly from the bash prompt (which's been about 6 months now) and I even got a taste of Emacs21 and not hating Vim so much either!
Which brings the next phase where typing letters, combinations and Ctrl Shift Alt in fast pace is becoming more important!
So, I just wanted to ask the seasonal and/or not so seasonal fellow linuxers, what is their favourite keyboard that they use... I ask this 'cause I'm finding my Logitech mx300 not so comfortable to use, as oppose to my very very very old Honeywell keyboard.

Type 6 would be a simple USB keyboard, my Type 5 (serial protocol) is still connected to a SuperSPARC 20 which acts mostly as xserver for remote applications. |

Already mentioned, but the best keyboard ever is the original IBM with bucklink spring design (Link 1 Link 2). The nice thing about these is that they don't have the M$-keys.
They are still available used on ebay, or new from pckeyboard.com. |

My MS mouse is a Laser 5000 mouse and had no trouble getting it to work in X. |

Glad others said it first, my absolute top choice for keyboard, standard, wired, MS ergonomic keyboard.
My current one somebody gave me in 1999, and it's still fine, no sticking keys, solid.
The reason MS got into that odd mouse keyboard business originally was because their programmers hated the stuff out there, so they decided to build their own.
A good choice. Probably the best thing Microsoft has actually done in these years. Have to give them credit for doing something right. |

I'm actually bit dissapointed that not a single kanotixer here used the weird and famous "das keyboard"

Talking about custumizing. you can have a qwerty, or any other configuration like that. |

I prefer Logitech keyboards. My Logitech Internet Navigator Keyboard with lots of multimedia keys and an integrated scrollwheel works perfectly, although there was some work to get it working. |
