Sehr geehrte Erfahrene,
ich bin relativer Linux-Neuling und nach diversen Versuchen bei Kanotix Thorhammer RC7 gelandet, was mir gut gefällt wegen der Ähnlichkeit zu Knoppix, was auf dem Desktop läuft.
Leider bekomme ich die Grafik nicht hin. Nach Laden des Nvidia-Treibers über die Kanotix-Konfiguration-Anzeige wird die Karte richtig erkannt (Gforce Go 6150), aber die native Auflösung 1280x800 nicht angeboten. Alle Versuche mit knxcc oder händischem Ändern der xorg.conf führen zu Hängenbleiben des kdm und schwarzem Bildschirm, ebenso die Anpassung der /etc/default/915resolution.
Was muss ich tun um zu einer scharfen Anzeige zu kommen?

Hallo Kano,
danke für Deine schnelle Hilfe.
Die Umsetzung war allerdings nicht leicht, da bei chvt 1 oder strg-alt-f1 der Schirm schwarz blieb. Die Scripts waren bereits upgedated. Die letzte Möglichkeit war eine Reparaturinstallation, erst dann konnte ich den Nvidia-Install-Script nutzen. Jetzt ist das Bild gut und der Monitor erkannt, auch die nvidia-settings im System sind nutzbar.
Super, so ist es auch für den Neu-User sehr komfortabel.

Naja hättest was gesagt, die Alternative in so nem Fall ist:

su
update-scripts-kanotix.sh
DISPLAY= nohup install-nvidia-debian.sh -ar

wobei das leerzeichen nach dem "=" Absicht ist!
