I just bought a 200 gig HD, and when I cracked it open, the whole thing was formatted as an ntfs. I tried to convert it to FAT32 using this liveCD and Windows, but with no success.
Does anyone have an idea on how to convert an external HD from a NTFS to an FAT32 and still maintain the majority of the space (FAT32 can only have 2 gigs of space for some odd reason...) |

NTFS can't be converted to FAT32! Hint came from M$.
Large partition support for FAT32, limit is with NT 32GB, with linux up to max HD-size.
@firehydra2k take a look at the Hd, there is a Jumper which told the PC to limit the HD-Size to 2/32GB. This is used for some old Reasons and with the Year2004 Mainboards this Jumper can be removed.
For more help let us know if the stored DATA are usefull/needed or if they can be deleted/LOSS. |
